From September 2024, 15 hours of government-funded childcare will be extended to all children from the age of 9 months. From September 2025, working parents of children under the age of five will be entitled to 30 hours of government-funded childcare per week. Applications for these offers will be available in the coming months.
At Little Oaks Day Nursery, we’re proud to support families in making the most of available UK nursery funding options. Our team is always here to help you understand how to apply, use your funding code for childcare, and make sure your little one receives the best start in a nurturing, play-based environment.
At Little Oaks, fully funded placements are available based on capacity. We offer both term-time only (38 weeks) and all-year-round (52 weeks) places to suit your family’s needs.
While government funding is structured for 38 weeks of the year (term time), we also offer stretched funding across the full 52 weeks that we’re open:
Our flexible approach means families can plan childcare to match their working patterns while still benefiting from their full nursery funding entitlement.
For further information, please speak to the manager of your chosen nursery.
To access your funded nursery hours, you’ll need a valid funding code for childcare. This code is provided by the UK Government and confirms your eligibility for free or subsidised childcare under the UK nursery funding scheme.
Once you’ve received your code, simply share it with our nursery manager before your child starts their funded sessions. We’ll guide you through the process, ensure your details are verified, and help you make full use of your available funding, hassle-free.
If you’re unsure how to apply for or renew your funding code for childcare, we recommend visiting the official Childcare Choices website, where you can check eligibility, apply for new funding, or manage existing codes.
UK nursery funding is designed to make early years education more accessible for all families. The government provides funding directly to approved nurseries, like Little Oaks, to cover the cost of a set number of free childcare hours each week.
At Little Oaks, we ensure that these funded hours are used effectively, giving your child access to enriching activities, early learning opportunities, and high-quality care from qualified practitioners.
Whether you’re applying for funding for a nursery for the first time or updating your details, our friendly team is here to help every step of the way. We can also assist you in combining funded hours with paid sessions if you require additional childcare beyond your free entitlement.
That first drop-off can tug at your heartstrings; we completely get it. Here are a few simple ways to make settling into nursery a little easier for both you and your child:
